Car Show Entry Forms

 

Do you have the fastest turtle?  Open to everyone of all ages, prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m. for the fastest turtles, and best dressed.  Decorate your turtle in any non-toxic way and show them off.  Deadline for Entry is 11:45 a.m. the day of the race all turtles must be in place by 11:55 a.m.  Judging for best dressed will begin at noon immediately followed by the race.

This ONE DAY show will be under a tent in the yard of the Museum located at 301 E. Broadway.  No registration fee is required.  Donations are appreciated.

 

Attendees may donate items to be placed in our "Market Place" for sale with all proceeds going to the museum.  Items will be noted as to who donated.

 

There will be competition judged by the public as "Peoples Choice."  Ribbons will be awarded.  Categories are Bed Quilt, Baby Quilt or Wall Hanging.  The top winners in each category will compete for "Best of Show" and the winner will receive a signed copy of "Lakes of Oil" by Eileen Coffield Huff.

 

All entries MUST be registered no later than May 25 at 4:00 pm.  All quilt entries MUST be presented to the Museum no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, June 10.  Market Place items must be received at the time of entry.

 

All entries will be released to the owner from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 11. You MUST have with you your "Permission to pick up entry form."  No entry will be released without this form.  Any entry left at the Museum over two weeks becomes the property of the Museum.

Ice Cream Making Contest

 

Check in for contest will be from 11:00 – 12:00 AM.  Contest will begin at 12:00 am and contestants will have until 1:30 pm to prepare their recipes.  Judging will begin when the team is finished, but no later than 2:00.  Winners will be announced at 2:30.

 

All ice cream must be made on site.  Hand crank or electric makers may be used as long as it produced at least one quart per batch.  If you bring an electric ice cream maker, it must not draw more than 20 amps and you must bring a 50 -100 ft extension cord.

 

Be prepared to give the following information when registering:

Team name

Primary contact person’s name and phone number

Team member names

Proposed recipe title and copy of recipe

 

Teams consist of 2 – 4 people.

 

Teams are responsible for bringing all ingredients for their ice cream.  Recipes using eggs must use pasteurized eggs rather than raw eggs.  (egg substitutes like Egg Beaters are usually pasteurized)  All cold ingredients should be kept in a cooler.

 

Teams should bring serving containers.  Part of the judging criteria is the presentation of the finished ice cream.

 

Participants should bring your own chairs and a table (if needed)

 

Ice will be provided

 

Award will be given for the following in both hand crank and electric categories:

 

Best tasting

Most unique

Best presentation

 

Judging criteria for the best tasting and most unique are as follows:

 

Flavor 45%

Texture – 45%
